Event in SP moves the refrigeration sector throughout Latin America

Event presents new developments and trends in sanitary and sustainable care for the ideal state of preservation of meat. SKG, with expertise in cutting materials, presents a portfolio for the sector

Since 2004, Brazil has been securing its leadership in global chicken meat exports and currently holds 35% of this market, according to data from the Federal Government. Furthermore, according to the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec), the country has maintained the title of largest exporter of beef on the planet since 2003. The high demand for Brazilian products in the global market can be attributed to the sanitary and sustainable care employed by producers, who are dedicated to delivering quality products, as highlighted by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

In this sense, to ensure that Brazilian and global homes receive meat in the ideal state of preservation for consumption, it is necessary to invest in the quality of the operation of slaughterhouses. For this reason, trade shows in this sector are in high demand, such as Expomeat – the International Trade Fair for the Animal and Vegetable Protein Processing Industry –, which is now in its 4th edition and has established itself as an excellent meeting point for businesses in the preservation, refrigeration and freezing industry in Brazil and Latin America.

Products from SKG and DATEC, an authority in cutting materials for meatpacking plants, will be on display at the event

The event will take place from March 28 to 30 at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion in São Paulo/SP. More than 8,000 people have already confirmed their participation. At the stands, 200 brands will be presenting the latest innovations in the sector. Among them, the highlight will be the articles from SKG, an authority in cutting materials for meatpacking plants. Located in Valinhos, in the interior of São Paulo, the company's new factory, which produces band saw blades, was developed in partnership with Munkfors, a Swedish company that is among the world leaders in the segment.

Wagner Huber, the brand's operations manager, explains that, in addition to band saw blades, the following will also be on display: scissors, hooks, knife sharpeners, anti-cut gloves, knives and grinding wheels; all with quality control, which is essential for the company to serve consumers with products that are safe for consumption and do not cause harm to health.

Among the innovations presented by SKG are the knife sharpening machine, a proposal developed with partners from DATEC, a company with expertise in automation projects; and the lines of knives with orange handles, to facilitate identification by internal vision systems in the plants, minimizing the risk of foreign bodies (knife handles, for example) getting into the meat.

“Our entire portfolio takes into account ergonomic management in slaughterhouses, which is essential for mapping situations and risks. The band saw blade line can also be used on automated machines and the sharpening equipment can be automated, in specific projects with Datec, for example, according to the customer's needs", emphasizes Huber.
